Please see one of our 2016 landscaping projects of paving in Urmston. Due to limited funds our customer decided to split the project into 2 phases.
Here you can see phase one – the upper 2 levels of the terraced garden divided by curving stairs and large planter. We used high quality Marshalls Riven Herena sandstone laid in random pattern. You can see also a brick water feature with a fountain head, planters at second level as well as the contemporary fence which we have suggested here to provide screen and support for climbing plants.

The design for this customer was created by Blue Tulip Garden Design – a RHS Gold Medal winner at Tatton Show.

The second phase of this project is scheduled for the spring 2017 so we should be updating you with some new pictures soon.

Landscaping project with Indian Stone Paving in Eccles Manchester

This summer we have successfully completed this pretty small garden project of paving in Eccles, Manchester. Our clients wanted here a fresh look to their tired garden. They wanted a traditional garden with a good size patio for dining, a small lawn and an additional small decked area for a future coffee table or a bench. The client had a general idea of the garden in mind so we helped to fine tune it. We agreed on the layout and planned gravel paths, a raised brick border and suggested suitable materials. For patio we chose Marshall’s Brown Multi Indian Stone. For edging to the patio, lawn and paths as well as for the raised border we chose matching Pre-War Common bricks.

. The problem created by nasty old fence and the savaged conifer hedge we suggested to solve with a bit of a modern twist in a shape of our contemporary fencing as a backdrop and a screen to unsightly old conifer hedge on their neighbors side.

Front Garden Landscaping Project with Indian Stone Paving in Moston, Manchester

This small front garden landscaping project with Indian stone paving in Moston, Manchester was one of those old landscapers favorites ‘from Zero to Hero’ and we enjoyed it a lot with – so I believe – a great result.
As usually this project started with a careful design in close liaison with our customer. We decided that the most suitable will be a very low maintenance but high impact project with a use of materials matching their back garden. We included here some natural Indian stone paving with a easy access ramp suitable for wheelchair, and natural Indian stone circle with a brick edge, Scottish Highlands pebbles area with a brick edge and some planters. To give the project a subtle modern tone we chose cube stone and solid timber planters. The planting scheme requires minimum maintenance. To achieve that we chose slow growing but handsome plants like Bay trees, Yucca gloriosa and Hebe.

The Association of Professional Landscapers Networking Seminar 2015. Recruit and Retain

Last week 28th of January we attended  the Association of Professional Landscapers seminar at Myerscough College, Lancashire on recruitment and ways to retain employees.

As much as the Lancashire hotpot at the end of the seminar we had a chance to enjoy listening to Mark Gregory (from Landform Consultants and chairman of the APL who coordinated the seminar), Guy Moreton (from MorePeople recruitment agency giving us some valuable knowledge on recruiting and retaining employees), Jody Lidgard (from Bespoke Outdoor Spaces, talking about his involvement with the WorldSkills organisation and how inspiring getting involved in it ca be), Penny Evans (Training and careers manager for the Horticultural Trades Association),Phil Tremayne (National business manager for the APL) and Andy Taafe (Myerscough College), We were given some great ideas and advice about taking on apprentices and working with the colleges on day release system so the students get to sample real life landscaping.

We took a tour of the Myerscough College and its impressive and still growing facilities which are a really good start to young people wanting to learn about the industry and the fact that the colleges are pushing for people in the industry to take on apprentices and work experience shows their commitment to the students and the Landscape Business.

It was also a great opportunity to meet other landscapers and their employees as well as to chat to the students and exhibitors. Overall it was a great evening cant wait for the next.

Step by step Garden Landscaping Stretford, Manchester

We are pleased to show you here one of our garden landscaping projects in Stretford, Manchester completed in 2014. You can follow the garden makeover process below.

Garden Design

As a part of the garden design process we discuss with our customers their needs and expectation in regards to gardens functionality and style. Here our customers are a retired couple who want a traditional, low maintenance garden with raised boarders for ease of care. They want a large patio in natural stone and a small traditional water feature with a cascade and a fountain. They choose our 5-star Full Garden Design.

The design presented to our customers shows both planting scheme when plants are young as well as at maturity (here mature plants only).

Garden Landscaping

Here we go! All formalities sorted so we can start the site clearance and preparation. We erect a wooden panel fences chosen by our customers.

Next to do is laying perimeters and paving. After that come the raised borders, the mini pond with water features, structures (pergola and trellises), planting and finishing it all with decorative pebbles and boulders.

All is ready now. How is that?  And as always  for the peace of mind our work comes with 2 years warranty on materials and labour.

Step By Step Garden Makeover in St Helens

Earlier this summer we have done a full garden makeover for our customers in St. Helens.  Colette and Alister – a lovely couple – had a garden looking well tired and out of date. The fencing and decking as well as the lawn and all overgrown plants were begging for change.

Before

With a decent budget of 10K we knew we could transform their garden into something special that they could enjoy for years to come.

So we came up with a garden design. The designing process took as usually about 2 weeks. A couple of consultations, a bit back and forth… and…

We agreed this was what they were after.

The quote was accepted and the contract signed so we could start.

During…

We started with a garden clearance – removed the trees and other vegetation, dismantled old decking, paving and the shabby shed.

Then the time was right for the new, bespoke contemporary fencing and raised borders…

Next step paving. to complement their house interior we went for a black limestone paving with a red brick perimeter…

Next came the ultimate garden feature – the pergola with a poly-carbonate roof. This structure will protect the owners and their furniture from rain almost all year round – a no-brainer for British weather.

We added the BBQ, new lawn, pots, plants etc. and gave everything a clean as well as sealed the patio and…

After…

… finished!
All happy now!

Contemporary Modern fencing, Salford, Little Hulton

Hi everyone! Our Modern fencing in Salford project – completed in September 2014.  All timber we use is pressure treated for durability.To build that we have used timber size 22mm x 40mm for the horizontals and 75mm x 47mm  for the vertical.
